Hi

I've been playing with this cool prgram for 24 hours now and am seeing a problem now and again.

I occasionally see an I/O error 23 message when processing some files (tag from filename) - it appears that the tag gets applied correctly though.
If I run on an individual file I can just continue - if I run on a directory structure then it locks up.

Any ideas what is causing this - could it be a corrupt MP3 file ?
Thanks

My guess... read-only file (or locked by another program) or insufficient freespace on drive. Check that all files are writeable (i.e. none are checked "read only") and that you have sufficient freespace on that drive.

I/O error 23 is an operating system error having the following meaning:

"Data error (cyclic redundancy check)"

My guess would be that there is some hardware problem in your computer, e.g. a broken disk (or possibly at least something operating system related).

If I were you, I would run a full disk diagnostics test, including a surface test, and then possibly a disk defragmentation. A ram-memory test could be good too.

CRC's could be a major problem (HD failure, bad controller, etc) or they might be something as simple as cables that are not connected firmly.

I ran into this a couple of years back - CRC errors on copied files. Ran all kinds of tests, couldn't fix it, was totally stymied. Then I opened the case, and pushed a ribbon cable tighter onto its motherboard connection - problem solved  :p

Trying different cables might also be a good idea before replacing more expensive HW.
