Unfortunately, I haven't been able to replicate this bug.  It happens every day or so, but the circumstances are not known to me.

I'm running XP Pro, and the directories I am processing are on an external (USB) harddrive.  Once in a while (not even daily) when I move the focus of the thumbnail viewer from one directory to another it simply closes.  I can then reopen it on the new directory and everything is fine.

Is there a known problem with this configuration?  Is there anything I can do to isolate the causes?

Exactly what do you mean by "thumbnail viewer", I'm not quite sure I follow here?

Ah yes, what did I mean?  I meant that the note went to the wrong forum -- it was a problem with IrfanView!  The confusion is that the renaming of files I'm doing needs features of Mp3/Tag Studio, and of IrfanView.  IrfanView to add sequence numbers to the file, M/T S to rearrange the parts of the the file (as in my other recent post).

As I've said before, I really wish the two programs would combine!  I really could use M/T S's tagging operations with respect to EXIF and IPTC fields in images, and IrfanView's renaming and copying/moving operations for mp3s without having to switch programs.

Two great programs which would be even greater if they ########d some code!

Sorry about the puzzling post.
