I've been trying to figure out a way to specify a rule in the Auto Case Fix settings that operates on the beginning or end of a string. Is there any way to do that?

In particular, if you end a filename string with a period, you end up with two of them because of the OS filename/extension format. I'd like to avoid doing a second pass after the "Auto rename (from tags)" mode, but if there's a way to operate in more than one "mode" in macros it might be worth a shot.

Having a way to specify beginning/end in general would be useful in other areas as well, but the end-of-string period strip would be a permanent rule so it would need a reasonably easy approach.  :D

My apologies -- I hadn't seen the "§" character in the help file. :)

On a related note, is there a way to specify "any character"? Or at least a "not empty" state in combination with [string]? The asterisk doesn't seem to be recognized. Also, the Boolean "not" doesn't seem to be included -- is there any chance that's in the works?

The string replace feature works on normal strings only at the moment. One reason for this is that strange collisions may occur if the replacements are based on more complex expressions wildcards and such. It might be updated in the future though.
