Quote | 1. Many times I need to browse/edit tags manually in my recent-downloads directory before applying the AutoRenameTool (because the tags are incorrect or missing). So there could be a button (in browse/edit window) that would AutoTag the currently selected file only, because usually the filenames include the Author/Title info on them(e.g in format author-title...) |
This is already possible. Please right click on any file in the browse box and you will see several alternatives to process this file. There is also the hot-key ctrl-t for the specific operation you're asking about (auto tag).
Quote | 2. In my MP3 directory there are unfortunately many files from a single author with different spelling (e.g Matchbox 20, Matchbox twenty). There could be a list tool that would make a list of all artists in the directory. It would be a lot easier to see those duplicaties or misspelled words in a such kind list. |
I think this feature might be a bit too specific to implement separately, but there is a nice trick that can be used to do something equal to this. Use the auto rename tool with the following template:
Code Sample | <Artist><\><OldFileName> |
And then immediately afterwards press the undo button. The result will be a bunch of empty directories created in the current working dir, one for each artist in all the files in the working dir. Just like the list you're requesting, but it's made out of directories instead. Simple delete these empty directories when you have looked at them.
