-Brading Software Message Board +--Forum: The Lounge (off-topic) +---Topic: Remote DB connection for tag info started by Locutis Posted by: Locutis on Aug. 06 2003,15:18 Hi, I have a some CD's full of mp3's albums. What i want to do is connect to a remote database and automatically download the tag info to the mp3 file - like CDex does with audio CD's. Does anyone know of some software that can do that ?? i.e. if i specify the artist and album ??? Cheers Posted by: RoyalEF on Nov. 25 2003,00:00 MS Media Player 9 (maybe 8 too) will do this but it is tedious. They will overwrite all your tag info with their own. They will also download covers into the folders as hidden/system jpg with names only aMS computer can understand. You have to drop you MP3 into their Media Library window. When staus/rating stars appear you can right click on each song and GET INFO on it. It will offer possible album matches. If you don't get a hit there are three tricks...using REFINE SEARCH choice in result window... Wipe out all but first artist (Lionel RIchie & DIana ross -> Lionel richie). MS doesn't can't search with multiple artist. try search again... WIpe out the album name try search again... put "hit" into album name try search again... I know that last one sounds weird. It will pull up various greatest "hit"s album but for some unexplained reason it also pulls up the original album, even when the EXACT album name isn't working. I would just use one song and then propigate it to all the others using MP3Tag, WINamp5 or I-Tunes end |
