I have a bunch of files that look like this:

10-shout_it_out_loud_220_lame_presetextreme.mp3

This is a Kiss song from the Alive 2 album.

I could use rename from tags but there is one problem with this.  The track number in the tags shows up as 00.  This would cause havoc for me since I like to order all my albums by track number so I need these to be correct.

So somehow I need to migrate the track numbers from the original file name to the tag, but just for the track number.  Then I need to rename the files afterward using Rename from Tags.

Any idea how I can just get the track number corrected in the tag before I rename from the tags?

Forgive me this software is so powerful and I know it can be done but I can not figure out how to do it correctly.  I 've been trying unsuccessfully for 45 minutes.

Thanks,
Dave

Use the following template in the auto tag from filename tool:

Code Sample
<TrackNr>-<TRASH>.mp3

Then use the auto rename tool to create filenames of any format.

And sure, what the hell, you're forgiven this time... ;)
